Malphite + Armored Impact

Why this rating

Experimental B. Malphite's armor and ability-to-attack pattern give the combo a clear purpose. The footage patch and exact shield timing remain unconfirmed, so this is not a current strength ranking.

Why it works

• Armored Impact adds armor-scaling area damage to the next basic attack after an ability. Malphite can alternate abilities and attacks to use that pattern.
• Malphite W increases his armor, and its passive armor bonus is tripled while Granite Shield is active. The creator recommends preserving that shield for the opening hit. This depends on the shield surviving long enough; the footage does not establish that timing.

How to play it

1. Consider it against physical damage when armor helps you survive and you can reach enemies for follow-up attacks.
2. Before engaging, avoid taking unnecessary poke that breaks Granite Shield. Look for R into a basic attack while the shield is still active if the timing permits.
3. If you remain in range, follow with W then an attack, and E then an attack. Land each attack before moving to the next ability.
4. Armor can support the augment, but still buy the defenses the enemy damage requires. Do not ignore magic resistance against magic damage.

Avoid it when

• Sustained poke has already removed your shield and you cannot find a safe opening.
• You cannot stay in attack range after R, or crowd control prevents the follow-up attacks.
• The enemy deals mostly magic damage, so stacking armor for damage would leave you without the defenses you need.

ARAM Mayhem context

Riot's 26.21 augment rules and current champion text were checked on October 24.
